WINNER OF BEST RUG DESIGN AWARD 2016 AT THE INTERNATIONAL WOOL AWARDS.
The term 'gelim' orginates in Norhern Iran and refers to an ikat technique where the weft thread of the rug is dip dyes to create a gently feathered transition between colours.
This rug is hand dyed and woven using a special ikat technique Ptolemy Mann has developed with her weavers in India. A stunning homage to the gelims from Northern Iran as featured in the book 'Undiscovered Minimalism'. Flatwoven in 100% wool with a signature pinstripe at each end. The flat weaves are double sides; perfectly beautiful on both sides.
