Details

This 'brush stroke' embroidery technique was created by a lady in Vietnam. She graduated from Vietnam National Art University and was familiar with the fine art mediums like oil painting and brush strokes. When she got the commission to work for a fashion brand for launching their collection at 'Vietnam International Fashion Week', the challenge was not only the raw silk velvet material, the challenge was to be able to 'paint' the most lively Chrysanthemum as she could.
The thread was dyed with fresh marigold flowers and mixed with thread from India, vintage thread from Europe and silk to add volume and texture to the flower.
The mostly cotton threads are in a variety of 6, 8 or 12 threads.
This kind of embroidery can be done on materials like cotton, linen and silk velvet.
